In homage to London’s layers of culture, history, and talent, we journeyed to the city’s iconic Barbican Theatre with local photographer Joyce NG to shoot Burberry’s new line against a brutalist backdrop.
London served as our muse, providing urban inspiration for The Webster’s Burberry shoot. Our vision celebrates London’s contemporary creative culture, collaborating with locally-based production teams, makeup artists, and hair stylists.
Relating to the collection’s active expression of non-conformity, recombination of materials, and playful rule-bending, we view London as a cradle for duality.
A diverse collective of subcultures find a home in London: mod punk, high aristocracy, and regal traditionalists exist alongside each other, each expressing a unique facet of British heritage.
The pieces of this collection elegantly combine inspiration from these different identities. Twists on tradition, self-expression, and the synergy of multiple perspectives are key tenets of Burberry’s seasonal capsule.
Tisci’s collection reveres the past and fixates on the future, articulating that the British attitude is not stagnant, outmoded, or lost in yesterday. Burberry showcases that Britishness is endlessly malleable, evolving, and brilliantly alive.
