Founded in 2011, MIO HARUTAKA’s eponymous Tokyo-based jewelry brand creates whimsical flora-and-fauna inspired pieces made to be passed on for generations. Born to artistic parents, Harutaka’s mother was a jewelry designer who introduced the craft to her at an early age. She designed her first pieces for Seijin no Hi, a holiday that celebrates young adults’ Coming of Age. The pieces she created were inspired by her childhood pet rabbit and her favorite flower, a daisy, themes that are predominantly present in her jewelry brand today.
